Hey guys, guess what!? The Downtown Lafayette Public Library at 301 W. Congress is having their Grand Re-opening on Monday, July 6th, 2015 & officially open for business on July 7th. This is the main library that has been in renovation for quite some time, so I am sure many of you will be excited! On opening day, there’s going to be a raising of the flag outside of the entrance to the Library at 9:30a.m., and a ribbon cutting at 10a.m. A second ribbon cuttin will take place inside at the entrance to the new Children’s section following the outside cutting. Please join us for the GRAND RE-OPENING of the MAIN LIBRARY, located at 301 W. Congress Street in Downtown Lafayette, on Monday, July 6, 2015. There will be a flag raising outside the entrance of the building at 9:30 a.m., with the program and ribbon cutting starting at 10 a.m. A second ribbon cutting will take place inside at the entrance to the new Children’s Section following the outside ceremony.
The public and the media are welcome to attend. Tours and storytimes will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and refreshments will be provided. Please note that no regular library services (checkouts, public computers, etc.) will be available on this day. The library will open for regular business starting Tuesday, July 7 at 8:30 a.m.
Regular hours for the Main Library, starting Tuesday, July 7, will be as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: 12 – 6 p.m.
The Jefferson Street Branch of the Lafayette Public Library will remain open through Thursday, July 2, with limited hours and services July 1-2. All Lafayette Public Library locations will be closed July 3 and 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
