Zumiez will be opening up shop in the Acadiana Mall and is a store catering to skateboarders and snowboarders. Now Louisiana has a slight shortage of snow, but our sidewalk grinding skater kids will surely find interest in this trendy retailer. Zumiez started in Seattle back in 1978 and has since opened over 400 stores across the states. This will be to my knowledge the first Zumiez store in our state. After doing a little recon online Zumiez looks similar to Pacific Sun (Pac Sun) and Hot Topic. I am sure it will be a fitting retailer for the younger crowd. Not to say that I am old… but I am surely out of that market.
