La Pizzera Ownership Change, Remodel Planned

on

Popular Lafayette restaurant, La Pizzeria, recently went under new ownership and will soon be remodeled.

The former owner, Christine Mhire, is excited that she has been able to expand her favorite brand to Carencro, which was a long time dream; but is now looking forward to her “early retirement” & spending more time focusing on her faith, family, and charity work. And although Christine is no longer the owner, she will remain connected by overseeing the brand to ensure that the quality and hospitality that you’ve come to know stays the same.

After years of friendship, family gatherings and discussions, the new owners — the Elkins and Stewart’s family — have decided to venture out into the restaurant business together. When La Pizzeria became an option they made the leap to take it up and pursue their dream.

La Pizzeria has been a Lafayette favorite for 25 years and counting. The new family of owners of La Pizzeria looks forward to making some timely updates to the local staple as they learn what the loyal and new customers would like to experience while enjoying their favorite dishes. Lafayette loves their Cajuns, Tigers, and Saints sports teams. So the obvious first change was to add more ESPN channels for guests to enjoy.

FYI: The menu isn’t changing but they do plan to add a few additions like a turkey burger and a few more desserts. 🙂

The sale of the Carencro location of La Pizzeria has not been confirmed yet, but we’ve heard the new potential owners have been in the brand for a while and plan to continue to run everything the same way it has been.

Below are photos of some food items and a post from Christine on Facebook about the change.
