A new Club4 Fitness location is coming soon to the former Lafayette Lanes space at 2825 Johnston Street in Lafayette.

The former bowling alley, which closed in 2021 after multiple decades of operation, is now being flipped into a new, modern fitness facility. With permits issued, renovations are already underway. This addition to the South College center will be quite the boost for the high-traffic Johnston Street corridor. While this is good ‘n’ all, could we somehow preserve the signage? It would be really cool to see the Lafayette Lanes sign mounted inside of the gym, just sayin’. If not that, preserving it to some degree.

Founded and headquartered in Mississippi, Club4 Fitness is expanding its footprint in Lafayette with this new second location. The brand already operates its first Lafayette gym location next to Aldi on Ambassador Caffery. Known for offering affordable memberships with upscale amenities, Club 4 Fitness typically features top-tier cardio and strength equipment, group fitness classes, cycling studios, tanning, hydromassage, and even child care—depending on the membership level.

This new Lafayette location for Club4 Fitness will bring new life to the long-vacant space, giving local gym rats a new place to work out closer to UL Lafayette campus.
An exact opening date hasn’t been announced, as demolition is wrapping up and construction is just beginning. But if we had to say, we estimate that the new gym could open within the next 3-4 months.
