Kartchner’s Specialty Meats, the Louisiana-born shop known for its boudin, smoked sausage, and Cajun specialty meats, is moving into the former Twin’s Burgers & Sweets space at 103 Centre Sarcelle inside Metairie Centre in Youngsville, LA.
This will be Kartchner’s 5th location, joining their original shop in Krotz Springs, the popular Scott, LA store right off I-10, the Lafayette store across from Moncus Park, and their newest spot in Crowley, LA. Some posts are stating that this will be the 4th location, but I’m pretty sure it’s the 5th. Unless something happened to the Krotz location that we are unaware. Interestingly enough, their last Facebook post in Krotz was back in 2021, which usually is not a good sign. Either way, this would still make for the 5th location, even if the original one closed. Unless we are just tripping. We could be tripping. But not tripping boudin balls.

The menu here is expected to look a lot like the others with boudin, pepper jack boudin balls, smoked sausage, tasso, stuffed pork chops, and lots of specialty meats. They also serve daily plate lunches, which is one of Lafayette Parish’s claim to fame.
The highway locations have built a reputation as a road-trip stop for that Cajun flair that so many want to try while passing through. Youngsville is a bit different in that this location is not accessible via a major interstate—making it less of a destination spot and more of a convenience play for locals.
No exact opening date has been shared yet.
