A new $35.5 million, 208-unit apartment community, called Verot Apartments, is coming soon to 2832 Verot School Road in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the former Dax on Verot restaurant property.
Being developed by New Orleans-based Key Real Estate Company, the new apartment community will consist of nine residential buildings that range from two to three stories. The project will also include a standalone 6,500-square-foot clubhouse.

The community will offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments featuring quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and full-size washers and dryers. The development will also feature French-inspired architectural styling, as shown in renderings published by the developer.
Amenities at Verot Apartments will include a resort-style swimming pool with cabanas, a 24-hour fitness center, resident clubhouse with lounge and coworking spaces, and outdoor kitchens with grilling stations, according to the developer website.
For those familiar with the property, Dax on Verot operated at this location for about 18 years before closing in June 2022 after the restaurant’s owners lost their land lease due to the property being sold.
Plans for an apartment development at this location date back to November 2022, when the Lafayette City Planning Commission initially approved a project known as Key Verot. Earlier plans called for 335 apartment units across approximately 13.39 acres.

Key is also the developer behind Silo Creek Apartments, the recently completed 252-unit complex next to Topgolf in Lafayette.
Construction on Verot Apartments is expected to be last for about 22 months. We expect move-ins to happen before completion as buildings come online with a tentative total completion by late summer 2028.
