Big Chicken, the fast-casual chicken restaurant co-founded by NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, is coming soon with a new location at Destination Pointe in Scott, Louisiana. The first Louisiana Big Chicken location is in Baton Rouge.

The new Big Chicken restaurant will be strategically located at Destination Pointe, a busy spot “destined” to become a retail and dining hub in Scott.
The menu at Big Chicken features the restaurant’s signature sandwiches such as The Original, M.D.E. (Most Dominant Ever), Uncle Jerome’s Nashville Hot, and the Shaq Attack. Each sandwich is crafted with juicy, crispy, or grilled chicken and unique toppings. The menu also features hand-breaded chicken tenders, “dunks”, wings, and salads with sides like Lucille’s Cheez-It® crusted mac ‘n’ cheese, seasoned crinkle-cut fries, and jalapeno slaw. And for dessert, the menu features milkshakes & sundaes, including Shaq’s favorite – the Oreo shake.
The new Scott location will feature the restaurant’s vibrant & modern aesthetic with bold colors and basketball-themed decor honoring Shaquille O’Neal’s iconic career. The open kitchen layout will allow guests to watch as their meals are freshly prepared, enhancing the overall dining experience.
This new expansion to Destination Pointe just off I-10 in Scott, LA is part of Big Chicken’s broader expansion strategy. Since opening its first location in Las Vegas in 2018, the brand has rapidly grown, with multiple locations nationwide. The Scott location will further solidify Big Chicken’s presence in Louisiana, with plans for additional openings in key markets.
With building permits pulled, the new Big Chicken location at Destination Pointe is expected to start construction soon with expectations of opening its doors to the public in 2025.
