Back in January of 2023, we shared that a new teppanyaki restaurant — also known as hibachi — called Kasai Steakhouse & Sushi was coming soon to Lafayette next to Costco at 4617 Ambassador Caffery.
We got an inside look at the new, locally-owned restaurant last night in anticipation of their official opening this Saturday, February 10th, 2024. See photos below!
A little about Kasai, for those needing more info, the word “Kasai” is pronounced as “kah-sigh” with a short “a” sound in “kah” and a long “i” sound in “sigh”. The restaurant itself is 7,200 square feet and features 12 hibachi tables. The main dining room features several tables ranging from traditional tables to small, intimate tables to large family-style booths. There is also a nice bar in the main dining space along with a huge sushi bar where you can enjoy a meal while watching the sushi chefs do their thing. The atmosphere & decor feel elevated and modern featuring many cultural pieces of art that showcase the restaurant’s origin.
As stated in the beginning, Kasai is opening officially this weekend on Saturday. So if you’re down for hibachi(we are always down) and for something new, this is the place to check out!
