The long-planned Smoothie King, coming soon to 117 Hector Connoly Road in Carencro, Louisiana, next to Waffle House and Fontenot Family Dentistry, now has its signature “Blending Soon” sign in front of the property, confirming that the project is still happening.
Back in 2022, we first shared that Smoothie King was planning to open at this location. However, without any noticeable construction activity, the project appeared to have simply fizzled out.

According to the local Smoothie King ownership, they continued paying the lease on the Carencro space to hold onto the location until they were ready to move forward with construction.
A similar situation happened with the Smoothie King location in Scott, Louisiana, off Apollo Road. That location was initially posted a year or two before construction actually began, but the project eventually moved forward and opened.

Smoothie King was founded in Kenner, Louisiana, in 1973 and has since grown to more than 1,300 locations. The company’s menu is centered around smoothies and other food options created for different nutritional goals, including getting fit, boosting energy, managing weight, supporting overall wellness.
Their menu features a variety of smoothie options including protein-focused “Get Fit” smoothies, energy blends, lower-calorie weight management options, “Be Well” smoothies, traditional fruit smoothies, smoothies designed for GLP-1 support, and a separate kids menu. Smoothie King also offers smoothie bowls, food items, snacks, drinks and nutritional supplements all dependent on the location.

The company’s website says its “Clean Blends” promise includes ingredients such as whole fruits, organic vegetables, dairy and non-dairy milk, whey, plant and collagen proteins, nuts, oats, nut butters, and nutritional enhancers. Smoothie King also offers several smoothies with zero grams of added sugar, along with gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free options.
According to the local owners, construction on the Carencro location should begin within the next two to three weeks, possibly sooner.
They are currently hoping to have the new Smoothie King open around the beginning of 2027.
