Downtown Lafayette

New Indian Restaurant In Downtown, Cloves Indian Café, Opens Soon

on

A few weeks back, we shared news of a new downtown Indian restaurant coming soon to the former Guama’s/Arcadian Bar & Grill at 302 Jefferson Street.

For weeks, crews have been inside of the downtown building working with no official name or concept released—except for it being an Indian restaurant.

Well, we have good news! The owners reached out and provided us with information about the new restaurant. It is called Cloves Indian Café, and it is 100% locally owned & operated. The owners have been residents of Lafayette since before the new millennium. Some of you reading this weren’t even born yet and others well, cheers to longevity.

Cloves Indian Café will offer its patrons fresh, authentic, and homemade Indian cuisine in a casual setting designed for quick service. The inspiration for their menu comes from how traditional Indian food was made when growing up. It’ll be a fixed menu with a different daily selection catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers.

A popular dish in Indian cuisine is Butter Chicken. Cloves Indian Café will serve butter chicken twice per week. Also on the menu are Indian tacos, which is surely destined to be a hit.

Cloves Indian Café is tentatively set to open in about two weeks or less; pending those darn inspections.
