We recently had a little staycation at the newly opened Home2 Suites by Hilton in Lafayette, LA & I-10, located at 2131 W. Willow Street in Lafayette.
The new hotel is an extended stay-designed property featuring 95 guest rooms. Different than a traditional hotel room, each room includes a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and freezer, sink, cabinetry, dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, and other kitchen essentials. Hotel guests can also request a large induction cooktop delivered directly to the room as needed.
The rooms are also significantly larger than most standard hotel rooms, which makes sense considering the hotel is designed for guests who may be staying several days or even weeks at a time. King rooms include a living area with a couch that converts into an additional bed, and larger suites feature a separate bedroom in addition to the main living and kitchenette area.
One feature that stood out to us in the suites was the dual-access bathroom layout. Guests sleeping in either the bedroom or living area can access the same large bathroom from either side, which is a nice consideration for families and groups.

We also noticed several ADA-accessible features throughout the property, including push-button-operated window shades, making them easier to use for guests utilizing wheelchairs. Large walk-in showers in each room include detachable showerheads, something local ownership specifically chose because they know firsthand how much easier they make bathing children and assisting those with accessibility needs.
Outside of the rooms, the hotel features a good sized lobby for breakfast dining, fitness center, self-service laundry room, large meeting space with a huge 100” TV, and a grab-and-go market stocked with snacks, drinks, frozen foods like pizza & ice cream, locally stocked specialty meats, and other items guests may have forgotten at home.

Our favorite part of the property, however, was easily the outdoor spaces.
The pool area includes a shallow tanning ledge with in-water lounge chairs, a deeper swimming area, mixed covered & uncovered seating, outdoor restrooms, and two self-service propane grills. Patio string lighting throughout the area gives the space a really nice atmosphere in the evenings.

The front patio spaces are equally as nice, featuring tons of seating areas, sectional-style couches, and two propane-powered fire pits. This was one of my favorite spots to end the night!
During our stay, we ordered pizza delivered, spent time with family on the patio around both fire pits, and simply enjoyed getting away for a night without actually leaving Lafayette. Even though we were only about 15 minutes from home, it genuinely didn’t feel like we were in Lafayette at that moment. Not that I ever want to leave, but you know what I mean butter bean.
