A new art studio & showroom called The Studio by Katherine Freeman, is coming soon to an old gas station at 2301 Johnston Street in Lafayette, LA
Owned by local artist Katherine Freeman, the new ~1,500-square-foot studio will serve as the home base for her growing art and design business, bringing together her original artwork, custom textiles, and wallpaper collections.

According to Freeman, the vision for the studio came after moving to Lafayette and wanting a dedicated space where she could continue creating art.
“After moving to Lafayette, I wanted to create a home for my growing business where I could paint, share my collections, and welcome people into my creative world,” said Freeman.
Katherine Freeman specializes in original abstract art, with pieces featuring colorful compositions, texture, and a mix of painting mediums. Her work also features traditional artwork into textiles and wallpaper designed for residential and commercial spaces.

The Studio will feature a dedicated art display area, fabric and wallpaper samples, and a flexible gathering space that can accommodate private celebrations, workshops, and other creative experiences.
Freeman describes the project as “a home for all things pretty and inspiring,” with the goal of creating a space that reflects her artistic style while also allowing others to experience her work firsthand.
A tentative opening date has not been set yet, as renovations on the property are just beginning.
