A new pickleball and tennis development, along with a Veterans Memorial, is under construction for the Broussard Sports Complex (BSC) at St. Julien Park, located at 701 St. Nazaire Road in Broussard, LA.
The park project includes the BSC Court Resort, which will add 24 pickleball courts to the complex alongside the park’s existing 8 tennis courts. 16 of the pickleball courts will be covered. The facility will also include a concession stand, pro shop, and observation deck overlooking the courts.

“This is a great day for the City of Broussard,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “This project is another significant investment in our community that will enhance the high quality of life for Broussard residents.”
Plans for the project also include the Broussard Veterans Memorial, which will be located on the north side of the park next to a new 3.7-acre pond. The memorial will recognize the six branches of the U.S. military and will include flag displays, benches, historical plaques, and an engraved brick walkway.

“It’s important as a community to honor our veterans,” said Bourque. “The memorial will be a respectful and peaceful place to gather for reflection and to recognize their service and sacrifice.”
Additional improvements include a 190-space asphalt parking lot and a sidewalk connection linking the parking area to both the BSC Court Resort and the Veterans Memorial.
Funding for the project was approved in August 2025, when the Broussard City Council unanimously voted to increase the city’s 2025–2026 Budget of Revenue and Expenditures to $8.95 million for Recreational Capital Outlay under Resolution #848-25.

Officially opened in 2017, the 122-acre Broussard Sports Complex at St. Julien Park includes baseball, softball, and t-ball fields, soccer and football fields, tennis courts, walking trails, fishing ponds, a splash pad, playgrounds, and picnic pavilions. The park is also a destination for many of Broussard’s large events including the Fourth of July firework show, which is one of the best shows!
“We are pleased to expand this sporting facility at the complex for our residents,” said Broussard Parks and Recreation Director Jamey Abshire. “We expect more visitors to the park, especially with the growing popularity of pickleball.”
