A new locally owned Cajun and Creole restaurant called Tré Roux is coming soon to 5801 Johnston Street, taking over the former Twin Peaks space that closed at the end of July.
The name, “Tré Roux”, can be interpreted as “Very Roux” or a lot of roux, which makes more sense in Americanese.

We recently passed by the property to snap a few photos and noticed fresh wood framing going up inside. The former Twin Peaks signage has been removed, and the old social media pages connected to the restaurant appear to have been rebranded to reflect the new concept name. However, the IG still shows off the ladies of the peaks.
According to multiple reports, the previously unnamed new restaurant is tied to the same owner who previously operated Twin Peaks in Lafayette. That same ownership group is also behind the brunch spot, Toasted Yolk Café on Kaliste Saloom Road.

Details on the menu and design have not yet been released, but what we do know is that the space is being renovated under a recently filed permit under the former name, Twin Peaks. The permit details do note a rebranding.
We’ll keep an eye on construction progress and share more as official information is released… maybe.
For now, you can follow Tré Roux on social media on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/share/1C89fCTb3U/?mibextid=wwXIfr and on IG at https://www.instagram.com/treroux.
