Pelican Pediatric Dentistry, a trusted local name for children’s dental care in Acadiana, has officially opened their new—second—office at 201 W Pine Street, right behind Home Depot off the Evangeline Thruway.
The location is significant, as most other licensed and board-certified pediatric dental offices are located on the Southside of Lafayette Parish—positioning Pelican Pediatric Dentistry as a more accessible option for families throughout Acadiana.

The new 5,100-square-foot space has been fully renovated with kids and families in mind, featuring modern dental technology, chair-side televisions with personal headsets, and a bright, welcoming design. It’s located near downtown schools, neighborhoods, and surrounding areas like Carencro and Breaux Bridge, making it an easy spot for many Acadiana families.
Pelican Pediatric Dentistry specializes in dental care for children of all ages, from infants to teens, including those with special healthcare needs. The focus has always been to create a safe, fun, and comfortable environment that helps kids feel confident about visiting the dentist.
Owned by Dr. Chris Savoy, a New Iberia native and board-certified pediatric dentist, Pelican Pediatric Dentistry has been serving families across the region since 2017. After purchasing the New Iberia practice from Dr. Ken Brown, Dr. Savoy expanded the team and soon outgrew the original location, with many families traveling from Lafayette and across Acadiana for their appointments. After years of requests for a closer option, the decision was made to open a second office right here in Northside Lafayette.
Dr. Savoy, who attended Tulane University before completing dental school at LSU and a competitive pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, always had plans to come back and serve the community he calls home. Today, he’s doing just that, now with two locations across Acadiana, including New Iberia and the new Lafayette location. Both Pelican Pediatric Dentistry locations are welcoming new patients!
