Sarrica’s Little Italy To Open Full-service Restaurant On Ambassador Caffery

on

Sarrica’s Little Italy, a name becoming increasingly more common with local foodies, is coming soon to 3546 Ambassador Caffery, formerly Tabouleh Lebanese cuisine.

Tabouleh is moving a few doors down and should reopen soon. I wanted to say 3 Doors Down but it’s technically 4.

Founders of Sarrica’s Little Italy, Santi and Gina Sarrica, along with their daughter Esmeralda, moved to Lafayette from New York City just a year and a half ago. Their journey began during a holiday visit when they saw potential in bringing something Lafayette hadn’t experienced before—authentic Italian cuisine.

The Sarricas

“We started making pizzas from home,” said Santi. “We didn’t have many clients other than our family until one day we started receiving so many orders and calls. People mentioned to us that we were posted in the “foodies group”. We didn’t know what it was until months later but it surely was a blessing seeing how a community comes together through food.”

As orders poured in, the Sarricas quickly realized they were onto something special. In just a few months, they expanded from a home-based operation to a food truck, where they continued to sell out daily. Success came fast for the family, and the next step would be to open a more permanent spot, which is currently in the Acadiana Beer Garden in downtown Lafayette. There, Sarrica’s was able to expand the menu to include fresh pasta and paninis.

Once in the new, larger space, Sarrica’s Little Italy will further expand their offerings to include special seasonal menus along with more fresh, organic ingredients. They are already doing it with their pizzas, pastas, and paninis.

“We are bringing something that Lafayette has never seen before; a completely unique experience through authentic Italian food,” said Gina. “It’s going to be like eating at Nona’s kitchen in Italy. 90% of our ingredients are imported straight from Italy, and the rest come from local Acadiana area farmers.”

Sarrica’s Little Italy is set to open later this year and will offer more than just pizza. Expect fresh pasta made on-site, homemade mozzarella, an Italian bakery, gelato, and paninis—all created with the finest ingredients and a commitment to authenticity.
