In early 2023, we shared that a new place, called The Yard Goat, would be coming soon to Lafayette at 116 Bertrand Drive, near Cajun Field.
We took a visit to The Yard Goat back in early March to get photos, and while they have been open since early March, we never officially shared our photos of the space, until now. It’s a really cool spot! Lots of photos below!

The Yard Goat features an 11,000-square-foot patio with 11 mature live oaks, fire pits, and private event & bar spaces. Being the largest outdoor patio in Lafayette, it also features a large trellis system with TVs, heaters, and fans for outdoor comfort. The outdoor space also includes food truck & crawfish boiling trailer hookups and bicycle parking.
The inside of the bar features 50 beers on tap, a large bottled beer selection, 5 cocktails on tap, 10 wines on tap, and a 16-bottle wine cruvinet system to keep the wine fresh. It also includes 4 signature frozen drink machines and a kitchen for food options.
Speaking of food, The Yard Goat is NOT a restaurant, so don’t bring them kids! However, they have partnered with The Bus Stop Bistro which recently closed their Carencro restaurant. So if you’ve been missing The Bus Stop, you can find them here, just leave the kiddos with someone at home!
Oh, and there are no goats!
