Golden Buffet, a newly opened Chinese buffet restaurant, now occupies the former Royal Panda location at 2418 W Pinhook Road in front of Walmart.
Aside from being a really unique building in a sea of square boxes, the space underwent renovations and reopened with a fresh interior toward the end of last year. Since my little boy was out of school, he came along to take photos during the visit. He enjoyed watching the bubble wall at the entrance.
Buffet Area
Lately, there has been a lot of discussion about Chinese buffets in local foodie groups on social media. In many of the threads, lots of people were naming their favorite places to go to, and among the many names, Golden Buffet was one of the restaurants listed.
Golden Buffet features a ton of seating, as most buffets do, along with a sizable buffet space with a selection of Chinese favorites including my own, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Fried Rice! There is also a ton of seafood, and fresh salad & veggies. They also have a made-to-order hibachi grill and a fresh rolled sushi bar. Plus, it’s all you can eat!

Regarding recent discussions about buffet options in the Acadiana area, it seems that people are increasingly open to visiting their favorite spots as well as exploring new ones.

Golden Buffet is open Monday – Thursday from 11am – 9:30pm and open until 10pm Friday & Saturday.
