The All New McDonald’s On N. University Is Now Open

on

The all new McDonald’s Restaurant at 1737 N. University is now open.

Since the day that the old gas station at the corner of University & Renaud closed we’ve kept you guys posted as the building was demolished and construction of a new McDonald’s started.

The original N. University McDonald’s building was built in 1996 when the company moved into fuel alliances with many c-stores. A move that made sense for the brand at that time period. Today, the focus is on improving efficiency in delivering a great product via their self-order kiosk, mobile app, and double drive-thru lines. By being more efficient, it has allowed McDonald’s to make their employees more effective. Take the employees that would normally take your order for example. Instead of letting that employee go—which was never the strategy—McD’s encourages those employees to be more attentive to dining guests, which makes the guests experience more enjoyable.

McDonald’s, although a large corporation, is deeply rooted into Lafayette’s local community. In fact, the Krampe family opened their first McDonald’s in Lafayette in 1972, only 17 years after McDonald’s was founded.

Lafayette means a great deal to McDonald’s, so much so that McDonald’s will be announcing their participation in City-Parish Councilwoman Liz Hebert’s “Adopt a Bus Stop” Program by donating funds to build three covered bus stops.

How awesome is that? Also, Grand Reopening Daily Specials – September 10 – 16, 2018. Register to win prizes.
