Southern Roux, A Local Food Truck, Is Opening A New Drive-Thru Kitchen On Verot School Road

on

A new locally owned Cajun drive-thru restaurant, called Southern Roux, is coming soon at 1506 Verot School Road.

The pandemic has sparked many new business ventures in Acadiana and across the nation as it has forced many families and individuals to seek other means of income for themselves. Southern Roux is a good example of the ingenuity and grit Acadiana locals possess, especially in today’s economy.

Starting as a food truck, Southern Roux dishes out hearty Cajun favorites like gumbo, shrimp & grits in a bowl or a waffle cone, “black market boudin”, boudin sandwiches, and more.

“My partner, Joshua Cormier, and I both worked in different industries and since the downturn in the oilfield we decided to buy a food truck, which has lead to us opening up this drive-thru kitchen,” says Jacob Bell, co-owner. “We are both born and raised here and know what it takes to make delicious authentic Cajun comfort cuisine.”

Southern Roux’s drive-thru kitchen is tentatively set to open during the first week of February.
