A new axe throwing company, Rogue Hatchets, is soon to open at 2018 Chemin Metairie Pkwy Suite C in Youngsville, Louisiana.
Axe throwing is a fun and competitive activity where participants throw an axe at a wooden target, aiming to hit the bullseye. Most participants, in fact, do not hit the bullseye, but the closer you get to the center, the more points you score. It’s typically done in specially designed indoor ranges with extensive safety measures in place. Picture a mix of darts and archery, but with axes!
Founded by lifelong residents of Youngsville, Spencer Howard and Ryan Gajan, Rogue Hatchets will feature 7 axe throwing lanes, 3 designated dart throwing lanes, and a lounge area with multiple TVs. The facility has a BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) policy, so you are welcome to bring your own drinks. Just remember, you’re throwing axes!
“We felt like Youngsville needed something fun,” said Howard.

The inspiration to bring axe throwing to Youngsville came after the founders visited an axe throwing venue during a trip to Destin, Florida. “Me and my neighbor Ryan had went to an axe throwing place in Destin with a bunch of our other neighbors last year, and we fell in love and knew we had to bring that to Youngsville,” said Howard.
The tentative opening date for Rogue Hatchets is mid-summer. As of this post, it’s already July 4th, so let’s see where they end up!
