The new locally owned craft coffee shop, Huya Craft Coffee, is now open in Youngsville at 1901 Chemin Metairie Road.
We had a chance to go check it out last week and the place is nice! The local owners are extremely welcoming and their love for great coffee shows through their work.
Huya, pronounced Hoo-Yah, is “Thank You” in native Chitimacha with the root of the word meaning “Goodness”. The owners, all natives of the Franklin/Charenton area, are Kily, Grant, Shayna, and David. With the exception of Kily, all of the owners and their kids are Chitimacha Native Americans.
