Back in 2022, we shared that Lafayette’s Asian Market, located at 110 Arnould Blvd, would be building a new Asian Market location on Tucker Drive near the Acadiana Mall behind Old Navy.

It’s currently 2024, and instead of constructing a new building, the Asian Market has taken over the former Old Navy space at 119 Tucket Drive, which would have been their next-door neighbor. In a fortunate turn of events, Old Navy relocated to the Costco development in the south (Ambassador Town Center) leaving the vacant space up for grabs.
Although it is not the brand-new space that the Asian Market originally designed and planned to build, the large area that was once occupied by Old Navy will serve as a significant expansion for the local market. With the availability of this existing space, we hope to see renovations that include a new facade and paint, bringing to life the essence of what the Asian Market represents today.
We do not have firm dates for completion, but they have been working in the space for a few months now so we expect the move to happen within this year.
