Back in June of 2018, we shared the news of a new Downtown residential development, called Buchanan Heights, to be constructed at the W 2nd Street & W 3rd Street split.
It has been about six months and we now have slightly updated information and a new visual, thanks to the @BuchananHeights Facebook page.
When we first shared the information of Buchanan Heights, we stated that there would be 30 townhome units, which is still accurate. We also stated that there would be 29 parking spaces for those 30 units, according to proposed site plans—but more parking spaces are said to be included in the plans.
The 30 townhome units of Buchanan Heights will range from 1 bed 1 bath units, 2 bed 1 bath, and 2 bed 2 1/2 bath units.
The whole goal of these new residential developments coming to Downtown Lafayette is to increase the population of those who live, work, and play in the Downtown area. Increased residential space is one of the major parts that is needed to create a more lively Downtown environment that so many are craving.
