Lake Charles-based Blazin’ Hot Chicken, Louisiana’s first Nashville hot chicken restaurant chain is coming soon with its third location in the former Brown Skillet space at 1011 E University Ave in Lafayette, LA.
Founded by passionate friends & Louisiana natives, the company was created with a desire to bring the flavors of hot chicken to their home state, Louisiana.
Nashville hot chicken is a fiery rendition of fried chicken, originating from Nashville, Tennessee, obviously. It involves marinating the chicken in a spicy seasoning blend before breading and frying. The dish is typically served with pickles and bread, it’s renowned for its intense heat and robust flavor profile, making it a sought-after dish for those looking for a spicy meal.
The menu at Blazin’ Hot Chicken includes options like Jumbo Sliders and Jumbo Tenders served with fries, coleslaw, pickles, and their signature Blazin’ Sauce. They also have a unique twist with items like the Mac & Cheese Crunchwrap, featuring chicken, pickles, and Blazin’ Sauce wrapped in a toasted tortilla. Okay, the Crunchwrap sounds blazin’ amazin’!
The space is part of a local convenience store
“We are incredibly excited about bringing Blazin Hot Chicken to Lafayette and can’t wait to share our delicious food with the community,” said Blazin’ Hot Chicken’s CEO, Umair Abbasi. “With our success, we’re now expanding, with plans to open two locations in Lafayette and additional spots in Baton Rouge and New Orleans within the year 2024.”
The tentative opening date for the first Lafayette location is set for early Summer of this year.
