D.R. Horton is building a new Louisiana West office at 208 Oak Grove Lane, near the corner of Eraste Landry Road and Foreman Drive in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The new office is being constructed on a nearly 4-acre property next door to D.R. Horton’s existing Lafayette office.
By now, you should know who they are but if not, D.R. Horton is one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, with several residential developments throughout Acadiana.
We don’t have a lot of details about the new office, but we believe that the new building will replace the company’s existing office next door. We also suspect that the new building could include a showroom for prospective homebuyers, along with offices for financing, sales, and other services related to buying a new home.
One interesting detail about this project is that locally owned construction company Lemoine Builders is building the new office, not D.R. Horton themselves. We know that D.R. Horton is mostly a residential homebuilder, while Lemoine specializes in commercial construction, but we still found this interesting. And from what we’ve seen so far, the quality of construction on this project is high quality. That’s all we’ve got to say about that.
We did attempt to get more information about the project by contacting D.R. Horton’s existing Lafayette office. After speaking with someone at the office, we were transferred to another staff member’s voicemail, where we left a message requesting a return call. However, we have not received a response as of this post.
Construction is moving along pretty fast. So if you’re wondering when this will be completed, we would estimate a January 2027 completion date.
