Thibodeaux’s, A New Cajun Restaurant Coming Soon To Former Original Patti Space in North Lafayette, LA

on

A new locally owned Cajun restaurant, called Thibodeaux’s, is coming soon to 505 Pont des Mouton Road in Lafayette, Louisiana, in the now-former Original Patti space.

Local founders Barry Burrows and Brandy Thibodeaux Burrows are bringing Thibodeaux’s to Lafayette, a new Cajun restaurant built around a family name with deep roots in Acadiana. The menu will include seafood, steaks, oysters, étouffée, gumbo, burgers, po’boys, boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, and other Cajun staples. The restaurant will also feature a large bar, live music, bingo, and an atmosphere centered around the food, music, and culture of Acadiana.

The Thibodeaux name has a long history in the local food business. Brandy’s father, Troy Thibodeaux, previously served as the meat market manager at Winn-Dixie on Moss Street before opening Thibodeaux’s Specialty Meats in the early 1990s, where the business became known for its plate lunches and specialty meat selection. Her grandfather, Rodney Thibodeaux, also spent years running the Winn-Dixie in Breaux Bridge.

Barry and Brandy said opening Thibodeaux’s was a way to honor that family history while bringing the name back near the area where their family first established roots in the local food business. Barry is from Carencro and Brandy is from Church Point, and both grew up with Acadiana’s food, culture, and music as part of everyday life.

The former Original Patti, located within the Couret Farms neighborhood, is a well-established restaurant location with a built-in customer base. For many living in this area, this new restaurant will be a nice little addition and hopefully one that becomes a Lafayette staple.

The tentative opening date is set for October 19th.
