Empire Wingz, a Baton Rouge-based wing concept, is coming soon to Lafayette, LA, at 1521 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, right next to the recently opened La Chapina & La Catraccha and Mexican Food.
Founded in 2012 by Vic Smith, Empire Wingz began when Smith served hot wings at his nightclub, gaining popularity that drew customers specifically for the food. According to reporting by WBRZ.com, he expanded by selling wings at pop-up spots around Baton Rouge before opening the first permanent restaurant near his alma mater, Southern University, along Scenic Hwy. It didn’t take long before the restaurant became a popular spot for students and visitors, leading to the brand’s expansion into multiple franchised locations across East Baton Rouge Parish.

Empire Wingz is best known for its chicken wings, which are offered in a wide range of signature flavors. Popular options include the O.G. Redipped — a buffalo-style wing that is re-dipped for extra flavor — along with Cajun Ajun, Dry Ranch, Cajun Dry Rub, and other house-seasoned varieties topped with the brand’s signature seasoning known as “Antidote.”
In addition to wings, the menu also features items such as boneless wings, chicken tenders, sandwiches, loaded fries, and a variety of sides and combo meals.
