We took a trip to Youngsville to get an inside look at the newly opened Dumpling Hour restaurant, located at 1911 Chemin Metairie Parkway, Suite 3, in Youngsville, Louisiana. The new location is next door to Baskin Robbins, Jersey Mike’s, and Rowe & Co., and approximately one mile from the Youngsville Sports Complex.
The new location officially opened on November 10, 2025. The original Lafayette location opened in June 2024.
The Youngsville restaurant offers the same menu as the Lafayette location and includes outdoor dining. Dumpling Hour is a full-service restaurant and is not an all-you-can-eat buffet; instead, it focuses on made-to-order dishes.
The concept centers on Asian fusion with an emphasis on Chinese cuisine, particularly handmade dumplings prepared fresh to order. The menu includes steamed, pan-fried, and soup dumplings, along with Szechuan-style dishes, noodle plates, noodle soups, stir-fries, and traditional Chinese staples. Vegetarian options are available, along with boba drinks including milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothies.
Signature items include Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), bao buns including pan-fried pork buns, potstickers, fried wontons, Bang Bang Shrimp, green onion pancakes, Asian Cracklin Chicken, pork belly bites, Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Pepper Steak, fried rice, chow mein, hot and sour soup, and egg drop soup.
Recent menu additions include Chicken Fried Dumplings served with Coconut Curry sauce, Creamy Chicken sauce, or General Tso’s sauce, as well as Mandarin-glazed spare ribs. New noodle offerings include Mei Fun, Golden Hot & Sour Beef Noodle Soup, Szechuan Beef Noodle Soup, and Pork Chop Noodle Soup.
In 2025, Dumpling Hour was recognized with Best Asian Cuisine from Acadiana’s Choice and a Culinary Excellence Award from the Foodies of Lafayette Facebook group. Its Xiao Long Bao was also featured in Lafayette Travel’s “25 Dishes to Try in 2025.”
Dumpling Hour is open seven days a week, with hours from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Service options include dine-in, takeout, and delivery through Uber Eats, with DoorDash coming soon.
