The New Orleans-based brunch spot, Ruby Slipper, appears to be getting close to opening its Lafayette location next door to Jersey Mike’s and Jet Coffee on Ambassador at 4701 Ambassador Caffery.

The Lafayette location of Ruby Slipper is about 4,000 square feet and also features a newly constructed 1,300-square-foot covered outdoor patio.
Outdoor Covered Patio
In an eggshell, Ruby Slipper is a Southern-inspired brunch spot that offers a bright and diverse selection of dishes, ranging from scratch-made biscuits, shrimp & grits, sweet heat chicken & French toast, pancakes, benedicts, avocado toast for the hippies (I like avocado toast, too—does that make me a hippie?), BLTs, tacos, and a host of boozy cocktails like the signature Ruby mimosa, the bourbon milk punch, and the mimosa flight that is sure to perk up the Real Housewives of River Ranch.

Once Ruby Slipper of Lafayette opens—which should be by the end of January—please keep in mind that parking will be challenging, to say the very least. There is parking in the back of the store as well as the front of the store facing Ambassador Caffery Parkway, but the front lot will also be fought over by those trying to get to Jet Coffee, Jersey Mike’s, and the other new places that have opened in this small center.
