It has been reported that a Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is planned for the Louisiana Ave. & I-10 corridor in Lafayette but, don’t get too excited yet.
We reached out to Raising Cane’s and got their official statement on this leak, it reads:
“Raising Cane’s is continuously evaluating opportunities to grow restaurants all over the world, and especially here in Louisiana. Many factors go into our decisions, and ever-changing market conditions can affect planned locations and launch dates. We will make a public announcement if and when an official expansion decision has been made.”
For many on the Northside, Upper Lafayette — even Breaux Bridge — this would have been great news. Who wouldn’t want a Cane’s at this exit? But it just isn’t in a place that can be confirmed at the moment. We will obviously share the news if Cane’s does indeed make an expansion decision in Lafayette. For now, we will see you at one of the other four locations in Lafayette Parish.
What we can tell you — with certainty — is that a new Race Trac is currently under construction at Louisiana Ave. & I-10. There is also a proposed Super 1 Foods, and other major developments planned over the next 5 – 10 years in this area. See our post, and aerial footage of this developing area (here).
