Trader Joe’s, coming soon to 1710 Camellia Boulevard in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the corner of Camellia Boulevard and Bluebird Drive, is getting much closer to completion.
Photos and video we captured last week show the official Trader Joe’s signage being installed on the building. This is a good sign, all pun intented, that we typically see when openings are close.

Also visible on the front door is a yellow and black alcohol permit notice for the future sale of alcoholic beverages at the store. From what we have typically seen with projects like this, these notices tend to appear relatively close to opening.
Crews are still actively working on the property, making some of the final exterior changes while buildout continues inside of the building.

Another interesting thing we noticed during our visit was the amount of vehicles in the parking lot. There were a ton of cars on site, which usually indicates training. The increased activity would make sense for employee training, store setup, stocking, or a combination of all three as Trader Joe’s gets closer to opening.
Based on what we can see from the road and air, the expected opening date appears to be around mid-September. We expect Trader Joe’s to confirm the Lafayette opening date in the coming weeks. Unless someone working there wants to spill the beans…
