Have you ever wondered what Lafayette looked like years ago? Check these photos out. The one at the top is of Ambassador Caffery and Johnston St. in 1958. The one on the bottom is the same intersection but in 2011. Look how much has changed! Lol Ambassador didn’t even intersect where we know it does today. There is so much more that can be seen from these aerial photos that I found here https://gis2.lafayettela.gov/LafayetteParishMap/ this website will give you parish and city lines, maps from 1958 – 2011 and more. The only thing is that I don’t believe it works well with mobile devices so you will need to view it on a desktop. Check it out though pretty neat to see how much development has happened even only 10 years ago much less 50 years. Can you imagine where we will be in another 10 or 20 years?
