The Wurst wait of your life is almost over for those that want to experience Downtown Lafayette’s greenest & most sustainable culinary business. The Wurst Biergarten, located at 537 Jefferson Street, is about 3 weeks away from being fully operational and open to the public. The eclectic little nook in Downtown has a variety of herbs & spices that are grown on-site to help with repealing mosquitos and of course cooking, surely. The building is an old salvaged shipping container that has been repurposed as a tap, bar & kitchen. The Wurst folks have even added a smoker that will be for those all important brats. The back yard, as I’ll call it, is a lush green grassed park surrounded by repurposed cypress booths for vendors. The grass is fitted with a netting that helps keep the grass from turning into a dusty mess. I wish I could remember everything that will emcompass what The Wurst will be about, but you will just have to visit it when it opens. Meanwhile, check out the photos that I was kindly allowed to take for you guys. See their Facebook for more updates.
