The Former Jefferson Street Pub Building To Become New Venue, Restaurant

A new venue space called The Jefferson, and a new restaurant are coming soon to the former Jefferson Street Pub space at 500 Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette.

A local company, Seven Oaks Grand Coteau, owned by businessman Chris Granger, has acquired the well-known downtown building that is historically the Old Guaranty Bank, circa 1905.

“As a real estate attorney and owner of Maison Title in downtown Lafayette, I’ve always had an affinity for downtown,” said Granger. “The former Jefferson Street Pub building is a statement piece downtown. So when the opportunity came along to acquire it, we had to jump on it.”

Slight renovations will be made to the historic structure including fresh paint and cleaning. While the entire building totals 15,000 square feet, the residential space on top will not undergo any renovations at this time. However, the larger lower level, which was formerly the Jefferson Street Pub, will become a new 3,500-square-foot venue for weddings, parties, and other events. Additionally, the smaller, 1,500-square-foot bar space will become a breakfast and lunch restaurant that has yet to be named.

The newly acquired space also includes side and back parking lots that will receive significant improvements for customer convenience.

The tentative completion date and availability for booking the venue are set for early-to-mid June.
