A new Texas-based restaurant called Noodles & Dumplings is coming soon to the former Red Anchor space at 5621 Johnston Street in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Straight out of the gate, we do not know if this venture is linked to the owners of the former Red Anchor restaurant. It could be, but ultimately it doesn’t matter to most because this type of restaurant is right up many people’s alley as most love noodles & dumplings. Right!?
Since opening their first location in El Paso, TX in 2017, Noodles and Dumplings have offered up authentic flavors and a vibrant atmosphere representing East Asia. According to their website, they have 10 locations throughout Texas. Pretty sure it’s more now, considering a new out-of-state location is coming soon to Lafayette, LA.
The Noodles & Dumplings menu offers a variety of items, including Pork Scallion Dumplings, Orange Chicken, LanZhou Spicy Beef Noodles, and more. Additionally, there are shareables like Five Spice Beef, Hand Pulled Noodles with options such as Lan Zhou Beef Noodle Soup, and a selection of Dumplings/Bao. Entrees feature dishes like Kung Fu Braised Pork, Mongolian, and Tomato Beef. The Rice/Noodle section includes options like Kun Pao Chicken and Kimchi Fried Rice. Pretty good-looking menu, honestly.

What we love about this place, specifically the name, is the obvious expectation of what the menu will offer or at the very least consist mostly of. We liken the naming to places that name their business something like “Noodles & Dumplings Near Me”. Adding near me at the end is like the ultimate SEO(Search Engine Optimization) hack because many of us will Google things in a similar manner. You can’t tell me you haven’t searched “burgers near me” or “Mexican near me”.
The renovations to the building appear to have just started and are probably a couple of months out from opening.
