Safari Station, A Premier Learning Center for Nature Enthusiasts Coming Soon Near Downtown Lafayette

Last year, Schoolhouse Reptiles and The Beetle Experience merged to create Safari Station. This merger has led to a new learning by center coming soon to 122 Pierce Street in Lafayette, LA.

Schoolhouse Reptiles was founded in 2017, by Siena Boney, with the aim of educating children in the local community about reptiles. Later, The Beetle Experience, founded by Steven Barney, joined Schoolhouse Reptiles, and together they became Schoolhouse Safari. During the pandemic, the community’s support was critical in maintaining morale.

Now, Safari Station will offer visitors an unforgettable experience. The Scarab Lab, led by Steven, is the main attraction, where guests can observe the breeding and raising process of some of Earth’s most captivating invertebrates. This includes spiders, centipedes, and the world’s largest beetles. Visitors can enjoy exclusive, behind-the-scenes encounters with these fascinating creatures.

Safari Station will also include a classroom that will be the central hub for various events such as workshops, camps, parties, and field trips. This classroom will be filled with educational toys, crafts, and books, and it will also be home to various animal ambassadors. Loki the boa constrictor, Frosty the Hedgehog, Professor Pancakes the lizard, and Ruben the Axolotl are some of the creatures that visitors can look forward to meeting.

In addition to on-site experiences, Safari Station will offer new packages and continue its mobile encounters, ensuring accessibility for all nature lovers.
