The new Louisiana National Guard Readiness Center under construction at 2350 West Congress Street in Lafayette, Louisiana has made major progress, with the large-scale facility now taking on much of its final shape as construction appears to be roughly 60% complete.
That percentage is just a visual guess guys!

Located near the Hilton Garden Inn Lafayette/Cajundome area, the new ~84,000 square foot readiness center will serve as a modern headquarters and operational hub for local Louisiana National Guard units, replacing the aging Surrey Street armory that has reportedly outgrown its operational capacity.

Since our previous post announcing the start of construction, crews have made significant progress on the project. Structural framing, exterior walls, and major sections of the building are now clearly visible from West Congress Street, giving a much clearer look at the overall scale of the development.
The new facility will include administrative offices, classrooms, training areas, weapons and equipment storage, maintenance support areas, and a large drill hall designed to support military operations and statewide emergency response coordination during events such as hurricanes and natural disasters.

The $37 million project is being built on land leased from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is designed by Holly & Smith Architects.
According to the construction, we are approaching 7 months in of a 20 month timeline. Based on that, the project should only be about 40ish percent complete. However, it does appear to be farther along, hence our 60% estimate.
