In September of this year, we shared that Opelousas General Health System (OGHS) would be opening an urgent care in Carencro, located at 109 Wallace Broussard Road Suite 300 — next door to Shawarma Guys, which we’ve heard is great by the way.
Today, a banner hangs with the logo WellSmart Health of Carencro, an affiliate of OGHS.
We reached out to our contact with OGHS, but have yet to receive a response regarding the details of this brand. We did find this website for WellSmart, https://www.opelousasgeneral.com/en/wellsmart_carencro/, which gives just a little bit more information—not much more—as to what we should expect. The website mentions, “Total care for your whole family, Coming Soon.” Continuing our search for more details, we found posted on LSUE.edu, a WellSmart has opened on their campus. Some services mentioned there are “sports physicals, annual wellness visits, drug screens, same-day sick visits, and management of chronic diseases.”
We expect similar services for the WellSmart Health of Carencro, give or take some.
No tentative dates have been mentioned for opening, but should be within a month or so.
