A new Shop Rite / Tobacco Plus is coming soon to the corner of W. Broussard & Johnston Street in the Southern Plaza development in 2018-19. The current businesses in this center include Zuhause German Bakery & Coffee House, Elle Rae Boutique, and Headkicks MMA.
Shop Rite was founded in Crowley, LA in 1966, and Tobacco Plus was founded in 1993. Both chains were founded by John Dan Gielen who passed away at 79, according to The Advocate.
Currently, there are more than 60 Shop Rite / TP locations across Louisiana, with over 700 employees.
