Home Furniture Plus Bedding has officially opened its impressive new 40,000-square-foot facility at 5808 Johnston Street strategically situated next to Mazen Grill and directly across from the new, under-construction Subaru of Lafayettedealership.
This state-of-the-art Johnston Street location has replaced the former store at the corner of Johnston & Ambassador, marking a significant upgrade for the business. In speaking with Frank Kolarik, the general manager at this Lafayette location, he stats that the size of the facility and its new location provides Home Furniture greater visibility as well as more space for a wider selection of products, including living room, dining room, bedroom, and outdoor furniture. The company’s other Lafayette location on Surrey Street will continue to serve customers as it has for many years, remaining a cornerstone of its operations.

Established in 1945 by George P. Fleming in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Home Furniture Plus Bedding has a rich history in South Louisiana. The founder’s son, Ged Fleming, expanded the family business into the Lafayette market in 1972, originally opening on Jefferson Street. Today, the oldest Lafayette store is the Surrey Street location, which underwent a significant renovation in the Fall of 2021 to serve its customers better.
