Himalayan Salt Cave Coming Soon To Midtown Lafayette

on

A new, relaxing experience is coming soon to Lafayette, called Lafayette Salt Cave.

The Lafayette Salt Cave is a Himalayan Salt experience, located 2504 Johnston Street in the Midtown Plaza. The owner, Marta Wallace Ellinger, a local special education teacher at Prairie Elementary, is setting out to bring to Lafayette an experience that claims say promotes a natural, relaxing environment in which the body & mind benefits. Her travels to other US cities like Asheville, North Carolina, have inspired Marta to open a salt cave in Lafayette. In the cave, you’ll find yourself relaxing for about 45 minutes in an antigravity chair over granulated Himalayan salt with salt lining portions of the walls; all while ambient music plays throughout. You’ll also be able to purchase Himalayan salt products at the Lafayette Salt Cave.

Himalayan salt, if you didn’t already know, is said to be a healthier salt in many ways. You can cook with it, bath with it, but you can also use it in your home as a form of air cleansing through the use of Himalayan salt lamps. As Himalayan salt warms, it is said to ionize the air around it; changing the electrical charge.

Salt lamps are said to provide health benefits because they are “natural ionizers,” meaning they change the electrical charge of the circulating air. — healthline.com.
