Fightingville Fresh!, New Farmers Market In The Works For Lafayette’s Northside

on

A new locally-owned farmers market, called Fightingville Fresh!, is coming soon to 315 W. Simcoe on the Northside of Lafayette.

A group of local friends who had enrolled in LSU’s Grow Louisiana Farmers Training Program together has joined forces to create a new farmers market that will provide area residents with healthy, locally-sourced farm-fresh foods in a family-friendly market setting.

“We decided we wanted to use our platform as farmers to help the community and open a Farmers Market for everyone in Lafayette to be able to come together and support the Market and the neighborhood.”

We envision a vibrant community market with fresh produce from local farms and growers.

— Kevin Ardoin, Fightingville Fresh! Partner

The family-friendly farmers market, Fightingville Fresh!, will offer market-goers local community events, live entertainment, and puppet shows for the kids. Evening markets are also being planned in addition to regular market hours that will offer live music, karaoke, and local art featured by local artists. In addition, special shopping hours for the elderly and disabled members of the community will be designated.

Tentative completion & opening of Fightingville Fresh! Is set for mid-May, pending COVID-19 social distancing restrictions.
