DL Throwback – Louisiana Hot Stuff

on

What if Developing Lafayette existed 20+ years ago? We are starting a new section for businesses that have been around before DL, or just been around for a long time.

This DL Throwback, we highlight Louisiana Hot Stuff’s 20th year in business in Lafayette.

Louisiana Hot Stuff started out in the Acadiana Mall, when the floors were brick, not what is it now. Something many fans of Hot Stuff may remember is the gumball machine(pictured below). They say many came just for the gumball machine.

Owners, Linda and David Faulk, opened the store 20 years ago and relocated to the Target shopping center at 4409 Ambassador. Hot Stuff specializes in Cajun music, food products, art and get this, they still have the largest selection of Louisiana souvenirs in the area.

Over the years, Louisiana Hot Stuff shifted to selling more collegiate products and hired about 30 college employees over the course of these past few years to meet demands. Now, they are in a sense going back to their roots and expanding upon their Louisiana section, but will also continue carrying sports products.

Here’s to twenty more years, Louisiana Hot Stuff!
