Lafayette’s most well-known local boutique, Caroline & Company, will be moving into what will soon be the former Paul Michael Company space in the Spring of 2020.
22 years ago, Caroline & Company opened their boutique in a small, 2,500 SF retail space, located at 113 Arnould Blvd. in Lafayette, LA. Over the years, as the boutique grew in popularity, they expanded into a total of 4 retail spaces occupying 10,000 square-feet; offering gifts, baby clothing, household items, and more.
The Paul Michael Company, located at 1800 Kaliste Saloom Road in River Ranch, recently announced that they would be closing after a huge, $4 million store closing sale. Caroline & Company—presented with a perfect expansion opportunity—decided to take advantage of the newly available space for continued future growth.
I have loved my 22 years on the Boulevard – but I am excited about this new opportunity to move into a new, larger space.
The soon-former Paul Michael Co. space is a whopping 35,000 square-foot. Caroline & Company will occupy 15,000 SF, which will allow the local boutique to expand their baby & children’s departments as well as adding more home decor, accessories, and expanding upon their best selling lines and categories.
The remaining 20,000 SF of space inside of the soon-former home store building will be leased out.
Construction for Caroline & Company’s expansion is set to begin Feb 1, 2020, with a tentative move-in date of April 1, 2020.
Caroline & Company provides work for 30 employees that work at both of their locations—Arnould Blvd and Our Lady of Lourdes Gift Shop.
