Buc-ee’s of Lafayette Entering Full Vertical Construction Phase With Newly Issued Building Permit

on

Buc-ee’s of Lafayette, coming soon to 3400 Louisiana Avenue in Lafayette, Louisiana, has been issued its full vertical building permit dated August 11, 2026.

Totaling just over $360,000, the newly issued permit means the start of the actual vertical construction for the project, as ground and initial foundation work has already been completed between 2025 and the first part of 2026.

Proof of Permit Issued

It may seem like Buc-ee’s of Lafayette has been moving slowly, but when compared to other Buc-ee’s construction projects across the country, this type of process is pretty much on par. The Buc-ee’s planned for Ruston, Louisiana, was announced several years ago and has only recently, as of this year, started seeing actual vertical construction. When it comes to large-scale construction projects like these, there are a lot of moving parts, which is to be expected.

In the photos seen in this post, captured today, August 11th, 2026, new construction vehicles and personnel can be seen on the property staging for construction.

As for tentative completion dates, there have been lots of mixed reports from several sources. But if you need a date to watch, the safest bet would be early 2028 for a Buc-ee’s of Lafayette opening.
