Big Merger Could Benefit Acadiana

This week a deal was struck between Halliburton and Baker Hughes, ha, struck…get it? These two companies are big in the oil industry and Halliburton will acquire Baker Hughes in a recent merger deal. The deal is a $34.6 Billion deal and with these two massive players in the oil field merging, it could really boost Acadiana’s economy. From what I have gathered, these two companies are big into Technology, as they should be. Lafayette is a pretty nice spot for technology and perhaps this merger will take advantage of our blossoming and innovated tech field.
