What the heck is a Bird scooter? It’s a pay-as-you-go pick up & drop off scooter rental service popular in many major cities around the US.
The appeal? You don’t need to go to a rental office or drop it back off at an office. They are sprinkled all over Lafayette and all you need to do is download the app, set up a payment method, find a Bird, unlock, and go!
I tested one out for the first time and it’s so much fun! I recorded a quick video showing the scooter. I didn’t record myself riding, you know, being safe.
Local businesses can even sign up to be a charger and get paid for it.
