Two new low-to-moderate income apartment complexes, called Ridge Commons and Loop Commons, are coming soon at the 200 Block of Ridge Road, next to WCC Furniture, in Lafayette, LA.
Both apartment developments, Ridge Commons and Loop Commons, will have a lot in common. Hehe, see what we did there? Each complex will have a total of 96 units totaling 192 units combined and will be essentially connected at the hip with one entrance at Ridge Road for Ridge Commons and the other at the Target Loop for Loop Commons.

As mentioned above, these apartment communities will serve families across a wide range of incomes, specifically households earning between 20% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). This will aid in providing affordable housing options to ensure accessibility for lower-income families in the Lafayette area.
The design of Ridge & Loop Commons is exactly the same featuring a modern style with brightly colored accents. Each complex will feature 48 – 1 bedroom units, 96 – 2 bedroom units, and 48 – 3 bedroom units. Amenities featured throughout each complex will include community spaces, dog parks, balconies, and off-street parking, according to documents.
Tentative completion dates have to be provided, but we can guesstimate that the first move-in will begin in early 2025. The entire project completion could conclude by the end of 2025 or the early part of 2026.
For more information about the projects (there is more info here, honestly), check out the developer’s site at https://www.atriumhousing.org/our-projects. They list the aforementioned projects along with one other Lafayette project that has yet to start groundwork. The construction company tasked with building the projects is Shreve Land Constructors, builders of The Reserve at Couret Farms in North Lafayette.
