Crunch Fitness, a national fitness chain known for its large-format gyms and recovery-focused amenities, is coming soon to the former Dirt Cheap space at 3324 Ambassador in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The new 31,574-square-foot gym is being designed as a full-service fitness facility with traditional workout areas, functional training zones, recovery amenities, and family-oriented features. The only other gyms that we are aware of that feature near similar amenities are Red’s and Club4 Fitness. Many others lack the kid’s spaces that set this gym and a couple other apart.

Plans for the new Lafayette location show a large main workout area with extensive strength and cardio equipment, including multiple Nautilus half racks with sound and vibration-absorbing lifting platforms, Olympic bench stations, Hammer Strength equipment, Smith machines, glute-focused machines, selectorized resistance equipment, and large rows of cardio machines throughout the facility.
Additionally, Crunch will also feature dedicated functional fitness and HIIT training areas with battle rope stations, HIIT bikes and rowers, hanging bag stations, TireFlip training equipment, and turf workout lanes with field-style markings, according to plans.

Lafayette’s Crunch Fitness plans also feature recovery and wellness amenities, including Hydro Lounge hydrotherapy seating, PolarWave DryPlunge recovery equipment, dedicated “Relax & Recover” spaces, tanning amenities, and separate men’s and women’s ADA-accessible saunas along with showers.
As for the family-oriented part, construction plans for the new Crunch Fitness show a “Kids Crunch” childcare space that also features a Kids Cinema along with dedicated kids restrooms. If you have little couyons aka KIDS, you already know this is a huge selling point.

As for construction & completion timelines, permits are in the system, which means construction should begin within the coming weeks… or months, if you’re buc-ee’s.
Without any advised dates, we estimate that once construction starts we could see an opening date for late 2026 or even the first part of 2027. Gotta capitalize on those NYE resolutionists!
